Mercedes-Benz announces major 2026 vehicle lineup and model updates

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a series of significant model updates and new launches scheduled for 2026. The flagship S-Class and Maybach S-Class are undergoing a massive overhaul, with over 2,700 new or redesigned parts, including a new V8 engine and the proprietary MB.OS operating system.

Other notable developments include the introduction of the third-generation CLA class in Japan, which utilizes the flexible MMA platform to support both hybrid and battery electric vehicle (BEV) configurations. The company also debuted the VLE, a fully electric successor to the V-Class luxury minivan, and announced a major update for the GLS-Class flagship SUV involving approximately 3,000 new parts.

In addition to these updates, Mercedes-Benz is expanding its electric lineup with the integration of the EQB into the new GLB-Class and the electrification of the AMG GT 4-door coupe and AMG GT SUV models. The brand continues to shift toward a software-defined vehicle (SDV) approach, integrating advanced MBUX virtual assistants and over-the-air (OTA) update capabilities across its new generations.
