Mercedes-Maybach luxury vehicle lineup updates
Overview
Mercedes-Maybach has announced updates to its luxury vehicle lineup for the 2027 model year, focusing on the S-Class and the GLS series.
The refreshed S-Class features significant design changes, including a front grille that is 20 per cent larger, revised front and rear styling, and new micro-LED headlights with rose-gold detailing. While the V12-powered S680 flagship will be phased out of the regular European program due to Euro 7 emissions regulations, it will remain available in markets such as the United States, China, and the Middle East. The lineup also includes the V8-powered S580, which utilizes a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system. To compete with ultra-luxury brands like Rolls-Royce and Bentley, the updated S-Class features an extended wheelbase providing nearly four feet of rear legroom.
Additionally, the GLS line is transitioning to the GLS 680. This facelifted model includes new fascias, star-studded lighting, and the MBUX infotainment system with a Superscreen. The updated GLS 680 is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 603 horsepower, paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. Technical improvements for the GLS include a revised steering system, reworked air suspension, and an optional E-Active Body Control function, alongside new leather upholstery options.
