Mercedes-Benz is advancing its luxury S-Class and GLS lineups for the 2026 and 2027 model years. In Japan, the S-Class lineup has expanded to include the S 500 4MATIC and the S 500 4MATIC long. The long-wheelbase version, which offers dimensions comparable to the Toyota Century, features the MBUX Superscreen, digital light technology, and an optional heated seatbelt system. Prices in Japan start at 17.08 million yen for the standard model and 21.36 million yen for the long version.

Regional rollouts continue globally. India expects the refreshed S-Class to launch on October 5, 2026, with the S 580 and S 680 models. In Australia, the updated Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is expected in the first quarter of 2027, featuring the V8-powered S580 and the flagship V12-powered S680. While the V12 is being phased out in Europe due to Euro 7 emissions costs, it remains available in the United States, China, and the Middle East.
