Mercedes-Benz launches new electric GLA SUV

Mercedes‑Benz has unveiled the third‑generation GLA as a fully electric compact SUV built on its 800‑volt MMA platform. The model replaces the EQA name and will be sold under the GLA badge. Three EV versions are offered – the GLA 200 (224 kW), GLA 250+ (272 kW) and GLA 350 4MATIC (354 kW) – with WLTP ranges of 447 km, 657 km and 643 km respectively. Fast charging up to 320 kW can add roughly 265 km of range in ten minutes. The wheelbase is 2 790 mm, 61 mm longer than the predecessor, and the overall length is 4 565 mm, an increase of about 143 mm. Prices start at €48 600 in Germany and €55 400 in Portugal, rising to about €60 650 for the top version. Production will take place at the Rastatt plant in Germany, with orders opening in late July 2026 and first deliveries expected by the end of 2026 or early 2027. The launch includes advanced digital features such as AI‑driven voice assistants (ChatGPT, Gemini) and a large MBUX Super Screen.
