Overview

In July 2026 Mercedes‑Maybach released an updated GLS 680, now powered by a 4.0‑litre twin‑turbo V8 mild‑hybrid delivering 630 hp (up from earlier reports of 603 hp) and 850 Nm, with an extra 23 hp electric boost. The model adds an illuminated three‑point star grille, optional 23‑inch forged wheels, extensive chrome trim and a Night Series Design Package. Inside, a three‑screen MBUX Superscreen combines three 12.3‑inch displays, a 15‑speaker Burmester 3D surround system and expanded massage functions for front and rear executive seats. Orders opened in July with deliveries slated for the second half of the year, first in China then the U.S. and Europe.

A few days later, on 29 July, Mercedes‑Benz officially unveiled the third‑generation GLA compact SUV. The new GLA is offered in both gasoline and fully electric versions that share the same exterior design, ending the previous practice of distinct styling for electric models; the electric GLA replaces the EQA. The vehicle is slightly larger, featuring a redesigned front mask, star‑pattern LED lighting, aerodynamic door‑handle trims and a cabin equipped with a 10.3‑inch digital instrument cluster, a 14‑inch central infotainment display and a passenger‑side screen. Production of the electric CLA sedan in China remains paused after weak sales.
