Mercedes-Benz updates S-Class flagship with major technical facelift

Mercedes-Benz has introduced a significant facelift for its flagship S-Class, specifically the S 580 4MATIC. While the exterior changes are subtle, the update involves the replacement or modernization of approximately 2,700 parts, meaning more than 50 percent of the vehicle consists of newly developed or improved components.

Key technological advancements include the new generation DIGITAL LIGHT headlights featuring micro-LED technology, which expands the high-resolution light field by roughly 40 percent and offers ULTRA RANGE high beams reaching up to 600 meters. The exterior also features an optionally illuminated three-pointed star on the hood and a radiator grille that is 20 percent larger than previous versions.

The updated model, which features a V8 engine, is positioned as a major evolution for the luxury sedan line as it navigates the industry shift away from traditional internal combustion dominance.
