Mercedes‑Maybach unveils refreshed GLS 680 with upgraded V8 and luxury upgrades
Mercedes‑Maybach has launched the facelifted GLS 680 for 2026‑27, adding an illuminated front grille, back‑lit Maybach lettering and optional 23‑inch forged wheels with a stationary star emblem. The powertrain is a 4.0‑litre twin‑turbo V8 mild‑hybrid that now delivers 603 hp (450 kW) and 850 Nm, aided by a 23‑hp electric boost. Interior changes include the three‑screen MBUX Superscreen running MB.OS, an upgraded 15‑speaker Burmester 3D surround system, expanded massage functions for front seats and calf‑massage in the rear executive seats, and predictive air‑suspension.
Orders open in July 2026 with deliveries slated for the second half of the year. Pricing has not been released. The model will debut in China, with U.S. and European bookings opening later in 2026. The overhaul aims to keep the Maybach GLS at the top of the ultra‑luxury SUV segment.
