Mercedes-Maybach updates luxury GLS and S-Class models

Mercedes-Maybach is updating its luxury lineup with significant enhancements to the GLS and S-Class models. The upcoming GLS 680 features a mid-cycle refresh including new front and rear fascias with star-studded lighting, the latest MBUX infotainment system with a Superscreen, and new leather upholstery options.

Technically, the new GLS 680 will be powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine assisted by a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, producing 603 horsepower. Improvements also include a revised steering system, reworked air suspension, and an optional E-Active Body Control function.

Additionally, the 2027 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class aims to compete with ultra-luxury brands like Rolls-Royce and Bentley. The updated S-Class features a 20 percent larger chrome grille, rose-gold detailing on the headlights, and an extended wheelbase providing nearly four feet of rear legroom to enhance its business-jet-like comfort.
