Mercedes-Maybach updates S-Class lineup with new V8 and V12 models
Mercedes-Maybach is introducing a facelifted S-Class lineup, featuring significant updates to styling and technology. The updated range is expected to arrive in Australia during the first quarter of 2027.
In Australia, the lineup will include the new V8-powered S580, priced from $517,900 before on-road costs, and the flagship V12-powered S680, priced from $582,428. The S580 utilizes a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system. The S680 retains its twin-turbocharged V12 engine.
However, due to Euro 7 emissions regulations, the V12 engine is being phased out of the regular program in Europe, as making the six-litre engine compliant is considered too costly for the limited number of European customers. In contrast, the V12 model will remain available in markets such as the United States, China, and the Middle East.
Design updates for the facelift include a 20 per cent larger front grille, revised front and rear styling, and new micro-LED headlights that offer a 40 per cent larger field of illumination.
