Mercedes to unveil third‑generation GLA SUV on July 29, 2026

Mercedes-Benz will officially present the third generation of its popular GLA compact SUV on July 29, 2026. The new model will be offered in both gasoline and electric versions that share the same exterior design, ending the practice of giving electric variants a distinct look. The electric GLA will effectively replace the EQA in the lineup.

The updated GLA is expected to be slightly larger than the current model, featuring a redesigned front mask, star‑pattern LED lighting and aerodynamic door‑handle trims. Inside, the cabin will debut three large screens: a 10.3‑inch digital instrument cluster, a 14‑inch central infotainment display, and an additional screen for the front passenger.

Mercedes has also paused production of the electric CLA sedan in China after weak sales, and its premium Maybach brand announced the GLS 680 for 2027, but the focus of the July event will be the new GLA and its technological advancements.
