Mercedes‑Benz unveiled the third‑generation GLA compact SUV, introducing an all‑electric focus for the model family. The launch adds three fully electric variants – GLA 200, GLA 250+ and GLA 350 4MATIC – each built on an 800‑volt architecture that supports DC fast charging up to 320 kW, allowing roughly 270 km of WLTP range to be added in ten minutes. The electric versions claim a maximum WLTP‑rated range of up to 657 km. German pricing for the entry‑level GLA 200 electric starts at €48,599 (incl. VAT). The GLA sits about 20 mm lower than its predecessor, has a wheelbase 61 mm longer and an overall length of roughly 4.56 m, providing more interior space. Inside, a full‑width MBUX Superscreen with three digital displays (10.25‑in instrument cluster, 14‑in central touchscreen and optional 14‑in passenger screen) provides a highly digital cockpit. Hybrid and mild‑hybrid petrol options, including a 1.5‑litre turbocharged engine with 48‑volt assistance, will follow in early 2027. International launch is slated for November 2026, with the U.S. market receiving the model in the second half of 2027 as a 2028 model year.
