Mersin business leaders emphasize cooperation and vocational training success
Mersin's professional training and employment initiatives have achieved significant success under the IMEP 2 Project. Conducted in cooperation with the European Union and the Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK), Mersin ranked first among 14 provinces in Turkey. Data from the project shows that 1,003 individuals participated in 75 vocational training courses, resulting in 484 people securing employment. Additional outcomes included 458 İŞKUR registrations, career guidance for 253 individuals, and social cohesion documentation for 114 participants.
In a separate development, the President of the Mersin Organized Industrial Zone (OSB), Sabri Tekli, met with the newly elected President of the Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MTSO), Serdar Yıldızgörer. The leaders discussed the necessity of unity between local institutions to address the city's needs. Tekli emphasized that while major infrastructure like the airport, port, and railways are established, focus must now shift to smaller but vital projects through cooperation with local and central governments.
