Mersin Metropolitan Municipality operates 17 student reading rooms
Mersin Metropolitan Municipality is providing educational support to students through 17 reading rooms operating across the city. Managed by the Department of Culture, Art, and Social Affairs, these facilities offer quiet, safe, and comfortable environments for both individual and group study.
The reading rooms are equipped with internet access, computers, and complimentary tea and coffee. To accommodate students preparing for high school, university, and various other exams, the city center locations—including the Adres, Güvenevler, and Neptün reading rooms—operate from 07:00 to 23:00. Operating hours for rooms located in various districts may vary.
Cansu Baytek, a representative from the Department of Culture, Art, and Social Affairs, noted that these spaces meet a vital need by providing the silence and tranquility students require, often benefiting from the group psychology found in shared study environments.
