Mersin Metropolitan Municipality renovates Silifke Atatürk Gazi Farm
Mersin Metropolitan Municipality has completed renovation and landscaping works at the Silifke Atatürk Gazi Farm to preserve its historical significance. Established following Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s 1925 visit, the farm serves as a cultural site highlighting his agricultural and cooperative production philosophies. Renovations include the cooperative building, landscape improvements, and the reorganization of the Atatürk, Agriculture, and Livestock rooms. The site also features a replica of a historical tractor and an Ertuğrul Yacht model to educate visitors on Republican history.
In a separate social initiative, the municipality provides daily lunch support to 3,000 students across 15 course centers in Mersin, Silifke, and Tarsus. Since 2022, the program has distributed over 486,000 meals to assist students facing food insecurity and to support their cognitive development during academic training.
