Mersin Municipality launches extensive summer program of workshops, camps and sports for students

Mersin Büyükşehir Belediyesi organised a city‑wide "Yaz Atölyeleri" (Summer Workshops) programme running from 29 June to 14 August. The free initiative targets primary, middle and high‑school students and combines classroom‑style lessons, experiments, and revision sessions across subjects such as Turkish, Mathematics, Science and Social Sciences.

The programme also includes a series of science camps at the MERCAN 100th Year Climate and Environment Science Center – covering basic sciences, climate and environment, marine studies, astronomy and space science – as well as robotics and coding courses. In addition, free swimming lessons and 15 sport branches (gymnastics, basketball, football, volleyball, taekwondo, archery, tennis, athletics, canoeing and sailing) are offered in districts including Akdeniz, Tarsus, Toroslar, Mezitli, Anamur, Gülnar, Bozyazı and Silifke. Reading rooms and libraries remain open for quiet study, and parent‑participation workshops are scheduled throughout the summer.
