Mersin Metropolitan Municipality launches tourism vocational training

Mersin Metropolitan Municipality is providing free vocational training through its Vocational Training and Education Centers (MERCEK) to develop qualified personnel for the tourism sector. A current 288-hour 'Front Office and Reception' course, organized in collaboration with the Yenişehir Public Education Center, is training 14 participants through theoretical lessons, practical applications, and professional English instruction.

Participants learn essential skills including guest reception, reservations, check-in/out procedures, payment processing, and the use of hotel software. Upon successful completion, trainees receive certificates approved by the Ministry of National Education. Following this program, the municipality plans to expand its offerings to include restaurant services and housekeeping training to further elevate local service standards.
