Infrastructure projects cause road closures in Belgium and the Netherlands
Various road maintenance and infrastructure projects are causing significant traffic disruptions across parts of Belgium and the Netherlands.
In the Netherlands, the Merwedebrug on the A27 will be closed in both directions from September 24 to September 28 to replace the asphalt layer with a lighter material. Rijkswaterstaat warns of delays up to 60 minutes. Additionally, work near the Urmond junction on the A2 will involve temporary closures of on-ramps and off-ramps, as well as the N294, to prepare for the A2 WeekendBreek project and bridge reconstruction. In the Duiven and Zevenaar region, the N810 will be closed from September 25 to September 28 to facilitate a new traffic bypass for future A15 construction.
In Belgium, the Aalstersesteenweg (N405) in Ninove will undergo asphalt renewal during the night of September 25 to 26. The road will be closed between Brouwerij Slaghmuylder and Hartencollege, though pedestrian and cyclist access will remain available.
