Mesagne to hold Madonna del Carmine Festival July 15‑17, 2026

The city of Mesagne, Italy, will celebrate the Madonna del Carmine from July 15 to July 17, 2026. The three‑day program includes a procession on July 15 that starts from the Chiesa Matrice and proceeds to the Basilica del Carmine, where the statue of the Blessed Virgin will be retrieved. During the procession the mayor will perform the historic “handing of the city keys.”

July 16 will be dedicated to prayer with multiple masses broadcast by IDEA Radio, and July 17 will conclude with a solemn liturgy presided over by Archbishop Giovanni Intini followed by a final procession. The religious events are accompanied by concerts – featuring Cesare Cremonini’s tribute, local bands, and a finale concert by Fabio Concato – and a traditional fireworks display. Organizers invite donations via the parish’s bank account. The mayor, Francesco Rogoli, said, “The Festa della Madonna del Carmine represents for Mesagne a moment of deep identity, where our community gathers around shared values of solidarity and care.”
