MESKO S.A. invests 300 million PLN in security and scales Piorun production

MESKO S.A., a subsidiary of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ), is significantly increasing its security investments and production capacity for defense systems. Following recent security concerns, such as a fire at a drone manufacturer's warehouse in Skarżysko-Kamienna, MESKO CEO Renata Gruszczyńska announced an allocation of 300 million PLN over the next two years to improve infrastructure and security across all company locations. This includes investments in high-generation monitoring systems and enhanced physical protection.

On the production front, PGZ is rapidly scaling the manufacturing of Piorun man-portable air-defense systems. Arkadiusz Bąk, First Vice President of PGZ, stated that production is expected to reach 1,700 units this year across all variants, with total cumulative production projected to exceed 5,000 units by year-end. This follows a major framework agreement signed on August 24 for several thousand Piorun sets, involving a consortium of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Norway. The company aims to eventually reach an annual production capacity of over 2,000 units.
