Messenia Municipality to host free health screenings in September

The Mobile Health Units (KOMY) of the National Public Health Organization (EODY), in collaboration with the Municipality of Messenia, will conduct five free preventive health screening sessions throughout September 2026.

The program targets the municipal communities of Kalochori, Adrianis, Achladochori, Kalamaki, and Paniperi. The goal is to facilitate early diagnosis and prevention of chronic diseases by providing access to essential health services in smaller or remote areas.

Screenings will include blood pressure measurement, oxygen saturation, Body Mass Index (BMI) calculation, and point-of-care tests for cholesterol, triglycerides, blood glucose, hemoglobin, hematocrit, and glycated hemoglobin. Additionally, teams will provide information on adult vaccinations and general health counseling. Citizens are required to bring their AMKA number.

For individuals with severe health or mobility issues who cannot travel, home visits can be scheduled via the free helpline 1135, available Monday through Friday from 08:00 to 16:00.
