Messina coastal earthquake of magnitude 3.2 recorded
An earthquake was recorded off the north‑eastern coast of Sicily near Messina on 10 July 2026. The Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) reported a magnitude of 3.2 at a depth of about 9 km, while other seismic data listed a magnitude of 2.2 and a depth of 8 km. The tremor was felt locally but no damage or casualties were reported.
The event was documented by multiple monitoring networks, which released intensity maps using both the Mercalli and European Macroseismic scales. Data were made available in various formats (CSV, JSON, XML, KML) for public and scientific use.
