Meta and OpenAI leaders discuss AI advancement and safety

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced significant progress in the company’s artificial intelligence initiatives, focusing on the deployment of “personal superintelligence.” Within six weeks of launch, over 10 million users in the US and Canada have activated Muse, Meta’s personal AI agent. Approximately 25 percent of these users engage with the agent daily, frequently utilizing it for online shopping, email management, and calendar organization.

Simultaneously, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has outlined three potential scenarios for managing AI safety and oversight. These include the creation of an international regulatory body similar to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), a collaborative model where major AI labs unite under a structure similar to CERN, or an extreme scenario where a single company achieves such technological dominance that it can control the computing resources of its competitors.
