Meta launches Muse Wonder AI models to compete with OpenAI
Meta has introduced two new advanced artificial intelligence models, Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full, marking a significant push to compete with industry leaders OpenAI and Anthropic. These models are categorized as frontier models, designed to handle complex tasks such as understanding lease agreements, processing financial and health information, and improving programming capabilities.
Mark Zuckerberg stated that Meta is aiming for the technological forefront of AI, positioning these models as steps toward personal superintelligence. The company claims that Muse Wonder performs competitively against rival models like Anthropic’s Claude Opus 5.5 and Fable 5.1, as well as OpenAI’s GPT-6 Astra. Unlike previous iterations, these models are built to retain information from past interactions and manage sophisticated problem-solving.
To support this development, Meta has undergone organizational restructuring within its AI teams, hiring top researchers and investing billions of dollars into computing power and infrastructure. While Meta has previously focused on open models, the most powerful versions of the Muse Wonder series are expected to be offered as paid services for businesses.
