Meta launches Enterprise AI platform and hires former MongoDB CEO
Meta has announced the launch of the Meta Enterprise Platform, a new business pillar designed to provide artificial intelligence tools, models, and infrastructure to businesses and developers. The platform will initially feature a suite of AI tools including the Muse agent, Meta Business Agent, Muse API, and Muse Code.
To lead this new division, Meta has appointed Chirantan 'CJ' Desai as Chief Enterprise Platform Officer, reporting directly to CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Desai joins Meta from MongoDB, where he served as CEO and President for less than a year. His transition has caused significant market volatility for MongoDB, whose shares plummeted between 14% and 27% following the news of his immediate departure.
In response to Desai's exit, the MongoDB board has appointed Dev Ittycheria, who previously served as CEO from 2014 to 2025, as interim president and CEO. While MongoDB's stock experienced sharp intraday declines, the company reaffirmed its business strength and financial guidance.
