Meta launches Muse AI agents for small businesses

Meta has launched Muse for Small Business, a suite of AI agents designed to automate routine operations such as cash flow management, inventory, customer emails, and ad creation. The tool integrates with existing software including Shopify, Stripe, Slack, Notion, and QuickBooks. Meta is offering a free tier for day-to-day tasks, alongside two paid tiers priced at $20 and $100 per month for heavier usage.

Following the launch, Meta has faced privacy concerns regarding the agent's ability to access user data. Journalist Jason Aten reported that Muse appeared to access his private messages on a Mac despite him not granting permission. Meta has denied these claims, stating that reading messages requires both macOS Full Disk Access and the specific Muse Messages connector to be manually enabled. Meta executives emphasized that the integration is opt-in and that macOS protections prevent the app from bypassing these permissions.
