Meta launches Muse, an autonomous AI agent for task execution
Meta has launched Muse, a new personal artificial intelligence agent designed to execute complex tasks rather than just answering questions. Unlike standard chatbots, Muse can independently develop plans to complete goals such as making purchases, booking travel, sending emails, and filling out forms.
The agent is capable of working continuously even after a user closes the application. To manage security, Meta utilizes a system called Sentinel to govern Muse’s internet access and determine when actions require user approval. For financial transactions, Muse uses Stripe’s Link service, which generates single-use virtual cards to protect underlying payment details.
Muse operates within a dedicated cloud-based virtual machine and is available in the United States via iOS, Android, and web platforms, as well as through WhatsApp and AI glasses. While basic usage is free, Meta offers subscription packages for enhanced capabilities.
