Meta launches Muse Code AI agent to compete with OpenAI and Anthropic

Meta has launched Muse Code, an AI coding agent currently in beta, designed to compete directly with OpenAI's Codex and Anthropic's Claude Code. Operating within a developer's terminal, the agent is powered by the Muse Spark 2.1 model and is capable of autonomous software engineering tasks, including planning projects, writing code, debugging, auditing existing codebases, and delegating subtasks to specialized sub-agents.
