Meta launches Muse personal AI agent in Japan

Meta has officially launched its personal AI agent, Muse, in Japan, marking the first region outside of North America to receive the service. The AI is designed as a proactive assistant that can manage tasks such as sending emails, scheduling appointments, and making travel reservations.

Muse integrates with several major platforms, including Gmail, Google Calendar, and Instagram. It also connects with global services like Stripe, Shopify, Trip.com, Agoda, and Klook to facilitate shopping and travel planning. To ensure security, the AI operates within isolated cloud environments for each user and requires manual confirmation before performing critical actions like making purchases or sending emails.

For the Japanese market, Meta is prioritizing integrations with locally popular services, including Mercari, Money Forward ME, and Ticket Pia, to enhance its utility in daily life.
