Meta launches parental supervision tools for Threads in Vietnam

Meta has officially launched parental supervision tools for Threads in Vietnam. Integrated within the Family Center, these features allow parents and guardians to monitor and manage how minors interact with the application.

Key functionalities include the ability to track daily usage time over the past seven days, set daily time limits, and establish specific time blocks during which access is restricted. Parents can also manage privacy and content settings. For users under the age of 16, guardians have the authority to decide whether the minor can opt into less stringent protection settings.

This rollout follows previous updates to Meta’s teen account protections on Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger. The enhanced measures aim to limit exposure to provocative language, dangerous challenges, or risky content, even if such posts originate from accounts the teenager follows. The updates utilize content protection criteria similar to 13+ film ratings.
