Metal Hawk discovers high-grade gold at Leinster South project

Metal Hawk has announced a high-grade gold discovery at the Numbat lode within the Thylacine south zone of its Leinster South project in Western Australia. Drilling results from the Agnew-Lawlers region included an intersection of 9 metres at 12.3 grams per tonne gold from 70 metres, which contained 5 metres at 20.7 grams per tonne gold.

Managing director Will Belbin stated that these assays are among the best returned from the Leinster South project to date. The discovery suggests a stacked nature of mineralised quartz veins that increase in grade and thickness at depth. Early geological interpretations indicate the lode trends north-to-south, which is oblique to the northwest-trending veins previously mapped at the surface.

Following the announcement, Metal Hawk’s share price saw significant intraday movement, rising as much as 105.3% before easing. The company plans to conduct further drilling, including oriented diamond core drilling, to validate the geological model and test the extent of the mineralisation along strike and at depth.
