MetaMask launches Agent Wallet with AI trading and $10K loss protection

MetaMask announced the public launch of Agent Wallet, a self‑custodial crypto wallet that lets AI agents execute on‑chain transactions under user‑defined rules. Users can set daily spending caps, allow‑list protocols and choose between Guard Mode, which requires two‑factor approval for out‑of‑policy actions, and Beast Mode, which offers smoother automation while still blocking malicious activity.

The wallet includes transaction simulation, threat scanning, MEV protection and gas abstraction, allowing agents to pay fees with the transferred token. Eligible transactions receive up to $10,000 of monthly loss‑protection coverage. Agent Wallet supports EVM‑compatible networks and the Hyperliquid exchange, and integrates AI development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and OpenClaw. The product follows a limited early‑access rollout to about 200 users and joins similar AI‑wallet efforts from Coinbase and MoonPay.
