MetaMask launches AI agent wallet for cryptocurrency trading
MetaMask has launched a new digital wallet specifically designed for artificial intelligence agents to operate autonomously within the cryptocurrency market. The tool enables AI bots to execute buy and sell orders on decentralized networks while maintaining self-custody.
To ensure security, the platform allows investors to set pre-configured limits, such as daily transaction caps and trusted contract lists. Any movement outside these parameters requires two-step verification from the account owner. The system also includes security checks to prevent scams and offers financial coverage of up to $10,000 per month against network fraud for transactions deemed secure.
The wallet simplifies the integration of programs like Claude Code and OpenClaw by removing the need for native coins to pay transaction fees in direct trades. Users retain full control of their private keys and recovery phrases.
The product is currently in a closed testing phase for registered developers to collect practical data. A general release is expected during the Northern Hemisphere summer with no subscription fees.
