MetaMask launches AI Agent Wallet while US crypto CLARITY Act vote delayed

MetaMask introduced Agent Wallet, a non‑custodial crypto wallet that lets artificial‑intelligence agents execute on‑chain trades within user‑defined limits. Users can set spending caps, approved protocols and choose between a default Guard Mode and a more aggressive Beast Mode. Each transaction is simulated, screened by Blockaid and protected against MEV, with insurance covering up to $10,000 per month. ConsenSys founder Joe Lubin said, "The next big expansion of the on‑chain economy will not be driven solely by humans."

In the United States, the Senate postponed the vote on the CLARITY Act until September after failing to reach a bipartisan agreement. The delay stems from disputes over ethics provisions and banking‑sector language. Senate Majority Leader John Thune confirmed the bill will return to the agenda after the summer recess, noting that Democrats continue to demand further revisions before allowing a vote.
