Meta reports 10 million Muse AI users and strong Q3 earnings

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced during the company’s third-quarter earnings call that its new personal AI agent, Muse, has surpassed 10 million users in the United States and Canada within approximately six weeks of its launch. Approximately 25% of users engage with the application daily.

Shopping has emerged as a primary use case for the agent. Zuckerberg noted that over a quarter of engaged users who shop via Muse have an average purchase value exceeding $200. The service utilizes the Plaid connector to link payment applications to bank accounts. Meta plans to monetize the platform through commerce fees and AI subscriptions for intensive users.

Financially, Meta reported third-quarter revenue of $64.6 billion, exceeding analyst expectations. While the Reality Labs division continues to face significant losses, the company expects these losses to narrow in the coming year as it reallocates investment toward AI. Meta also aims to improve Muse's compute cost efficiency by more than 10x over the next year.
