Meta expands Muse AI agent to iPad and announces Windows version

Meta is aggressively expanding its personal AI agent, Muse, which is designed to perform proactive tasks rather than just answering questions. Following its September launch on iPhone and Android, Muse has now arrived as a dedicated iPad app. The agent operates within a secure, dedicated virtual machine called the Muse Secure VM, allowing it to navigate the web and interact with services like a human would.

To support productivity and small businesses, Meta has introduced a wide array of 'connectors.' These allow Muse to integrate with platforms such as Asana, Canva, Dropbox, Figma, QuickBooks, GitHub, Klaviyo, and Zoom. The agent can also connect to Meta ad accounts to assist with marketing tasks. Additionally, Muse has expanded its retail capabilities, integrating with partners like Gap, Sephora, Walmart, and Wayfar to facilitate direct transactions on behalf of users.

To address concerns regarding AI agents being mistaken for malicious bots, Meta is working with industry partners to develop an open standard that allows agents to identify themselves to websites. While the agent is currently available on mobile and web, Microsoft has announced that a native version for Windows PCs is coming soon, featuring MXC integration for enhanced security and sandboxing.
