Meta launches Muse, a personal AI agent for task automation

Meta has launched Muse, a new personal AI agent designed to transition from conversational chatbots to proactive, agentic AI. Powered by the Muse Spark 1.3 model, the agent can execute multi-step tasks such as managing emails, booking travel, organizing calendars, and making online purchases.

Initially available in the United States to users aged 18 and older, Muse can be accessed via a standalone app, web browsers, and Meta platforms like WhatsApp. Meta also plans to integrate the technology into its smart glasses in the future. To facilitate secure transactions, the agent utilizes Stripe’s Link service.

To address privacy and security concerns, Muse operates within a dedicated secure virtual machine on the cloud. Meta states that user conversations are not shared with its advertising platform, and high-risk actions require explicit user approval. The service follows a tiered pricing model: a free basic version, a $20 monthly subscription, and a $100 monthly subscription for intensive users.
