Meteocat stations report annual rainfall averages exceeded
Approximately one-fourth of Meteocat's automatic weather stations have already exceeded their annual average precipitation levels, despite nearly three months remaining in the year. Recent heavy rainfall episodes have significantly boosted totals across various regions.
In Barcelona, the Fabra Observatory has recorded 734 liters since January 1, which is 80% higher than the century's average for this date and exceeds the typical 12-month average of 567 liters. Granollers has also seen significant increases, recording 735 liters, surpassing its recent average of 578 liters.
Other notable areas include the Terres de l'Ebre region, specifically Les Cases d'Alcanar, which has reached 622 liters against a usual 499. In the Girona province, municipalities such as Palafrugell, Espolla, and Roses have also reported precipitation levels well above their annual norms.
