Metepec announces Quimera 2026 International Art and Culture Festival

The 36th edition of the Quimera International Festival of Art and Culture will take place in Metepec, Mexico, from October 13 to 18, 2026. The multidisciplinary event will feature 314 activities across 14 different venues, including the Plaza Benito Juárez, Teatro Quimera, and the Museo del Barro.

Authorities expect the festival to attract approximately 500,000 visitors and generate an economic impact of nearly 75 million pesos. Carolina Garduño, Director of Culture for Metepec, noted that while the main programming is shorter than previous years, the decentralized distribution of venues is intended to spread foot traffic and benefit local businesses throughout the municipality.

The musical lineup includes performances by Emmanuel, El Gran Silencio, Transe Express, Motel, and international artist Mariana Bo. Additionally, the state of Oaxaca will participate with a dedicated cultural pavilion and presentations of the Guelaguetza tradition.
