Metin Atan calls for resignation of Minister Erhan Arıklı
Metin Atan, President of the KAMUSEN union, has called for the resignation of Erhan Arıklı, the Minister of Public Works and Transport, following a fatal ferry disaster off the coast of Kyrenia.
Atan stated that issuing condolences and announcing investigations is insufficient given the loss of life. He demanded full public disclosure regarding the vessel’s technical condition, maintenance history, inspections, and seaworthiness permits.
Furthermore, Atan called for an independent and transparent investigation into the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and all other institutions responsible for oversight and supervision during the incident.
