METLEN acquires Joule to boost renewable energy software capabilities
METLEN has announced the acquisition of Joule, a Greek energy software company, as part of a strategic digital transformation to optimize its renewable energy and storage portfolios.
The deal centers on the jHub platform, an advanced system developed by Joule that enables real-time monitoring, production forecasting, and remote control of renewable energy stations and storage facilities. This technology provides METLEN with greater operational autonomy and enhanced digital services for producers through an integrated customer portal.
METLEN currently manages a portfolio of approximately 1,450 renewable energy stations with a total installed capacity of 3 GW. The company has also recently integrated two energy storage stations totaling 378 MW. Beyond Greece, METLEN's Aggregated Representation Entity (ΦοΣΕ) operates in Italy and Romania, with ongoing expansion plans for Bulgaria.
