Metlen receives €340.6 million strategic investment incentives in Greece

The Greek government approved incentives for Metlen's €340.6 million strategic investment, classified as a "Strategic Investment" and published in the Government Gazette. The decision provides a €91.51 million grant—financed by €51.51 million from the Modernisation Fund, €16.13 million from the Recovery and Resilience Fund, and €23.87 million from the Public Investment Programme—along with tax exemptions worth €26.16 million for flood‑protection works. The enhanced project budget totals €298.8 million (excluding VAT) and will be funded through €61.3 million of Metlen’s own equity, a €146 million bank loan, and the €91.51 million grant.

The investment will develop an integrated production line for bauxite, gallium and aluminium in Agios Nikolaos, Boeotia, including a new research and extraction line, expansion and modernisation of aluminium capacity, energy supply infrastructure, port upgrades, and accompanying road and flood‑protection works.
