Metro 2039 release date set for February 4, 2027

4A Games and Deep Silver have announced that Metro 2039 is scheduled for release on February 4, 2027. The title will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S.

During a PlayStation State of Play presentation, developers showcased gameplay footage captured on the PlayStation 5 Pro. The game features a new protagonist known as ‘The Stranger,’ a former Spartan warrior navigating the ruined, radioactive surface of Moscow and its underground tunnels. The narrative follows his journey through a world controlled by the Novoreich regime.

Technically, the game utilizes the proprietary 4A Engine and is designed with ray tracing at its core. A dedicated Performance Mode will be available at launch for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X, offering 4K resolution at 60 FPS with ray tracing enabled. On PC, the title is expected to support even higher-end features such as path tracing.

Metro 2039 recently received the ‘Best Visuals’ award at the gamescom awards. Pre-orders are expected to begin later this year, and a Collector’s Edition featuring a wearable replica of a Spartan helmet has been announced.
