Metropolitan George of Kitros Concludes Summer Youth Camp

The Holy Metropolis of Kitros, Katerini and Platamon completed its "Camp in the City" program, held from 6 July to 1 August at the Metropolis facilities in Svorono. The summer camp served dozens of children and teenagers from the wider Pieria region, offering a blend of spiritual, cultural and recreational activities.

Four camp periods were organized for participants ranging from fourth‑grade pupils to high‑school students. Daily schedules included liturgical services, sports, group games, crafts, theater performances, lessons in traditional dances, creative workshops and visits to monasteries and other sites of religious and cultural interest.

Metropolitan George closely monitored the initiative, visiting the camps and expressing ongoing pastoral concern for the youth. Archimandrite P. Meletios Paraschos oversaw the camp’s operation, while staff from the Youth Office, group leaders and volunteers provided daily support. All personnel had previously attended specialized training to ensure safe and effective guidance for the children.
