Metropolitan Museum of Art pieces to be exhibited in Bucharest

The National Museum of Romanian Art is hosting the exhibition ‘The Textile Museum – Everything is Connected,’ scheduled to open on September 24. The exhibition features pieces from a donation made by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York to the Textile Museum in Baia.

The showcase aims to place Romanian textile art within the context of global museum collections, creating a dialogue between local heritage and universal textile traditions. The exhibition serves as a preview for the future International Research Center for Textiles in Baia, Hunedoara County, which is intended to be a space for researching and contextualizing Romanian textile heritage in relation to international collections.

The Textile Museum in Baia, founded in 2017 by Dr. Florica Zaharia, remains the only museum in Romania dedicated specifically to textile culture.
