Art exhibitions at the National Museum of Romanian Art

Overview

The National Museum of Romanian Art has hosted several significant exhibitions showcasing diverse cultural heritages.

In late September, the museum presented ‘The Textile Museum – Everything is Connected,’ an exhibition featuring pieces donated by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York to the Textile Museum in Baia. This showcase was designed to connect Romanian textile art with global traditions and served as a preview for the future International Research Center for Textiles in Baia.

Following this, the museum hosted the ‘Museum of Museums’ exhibition. This display featured over 100 pieces sourced from 20 different Romanian museum institutions and the National Museum of Art of Romania’s own permanent collections. The exhibition included a wide range of historical artifacts and artworks, such as Neolithic idols, ancient statues, rare manuscripts, and works by artists including Mantegna, Rubens, and Cézanne.
