Mevlid Kandili observances announced in Turkey

The Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı) has announced that the topic for the Friday sermon on August 21, 2026, will be ‘Mevlid-i Nebi’. The sermon focuses on the character of the Prophet Muhammad, emphasizing the importance of good morals in family and social life, including kindness to relatives, helping the needy, and maintaining community brotherhood.

In conjunction with these observances, Talas Municipality in Turkey is organizing a special Mevlid Kandili program at the Turkic World Nation Garden. The event, scheduled for August 21, 2026, at 20:30, will feature Quranic recitations by Ahmet Yıldırım, a speech by Dr. Yakup Aktaş, and various religious hymns (ilahis) performed by Musap, Yasin Yüksel, and Grup Şantiye. Talas Mayor Mustafa Yalçın has invited all citizens to participate in the spiritual atmosphere.
