Mexican authorities condemn misogynistic attacks on Cruz Azul Femenil players
Mexico's Secretariat of Women and various football organizations have condemned misogynistic and sexualized comments directed at Cruz Azul Femenil players. The controversy stems from content produced by the program ‘Pláticas del Mal’, where creators made offensive remarks following a match between Cruz Azul and América.
Cruz Azul Femenil has expressed its rejection of these expressions and offered legal support to its players should they choose to pursue criminal charges for the conduct. The Liga MX Femenil also issued a statement condemning digital violence, asserting that while football should generate debate, it must not justify discrimination or expressions that denigrate women.
Yirleidis Minota, a player for Pachuca Femenil, publicly supported the Cruz Azul players, stating that those who do not enjoy women's football should simply stop watching it rather than engaging in such behavior.
