Mexican authorities locate six missing young men in Mazatlán

Six young men from Nayarit who vanished while traveling to Mazatlán were rescued alive during a security operation on Federal Highway 15. Officers stopped a white Chrysler Voyager matching the description of the missing group's vehicle, and the men reported they had been kidnapped in the community of Tablón Viejo, Rosario municipality. They were taken to Mazatlán for investigation by federal and state forces, including the Mexican Army, National Guard, Navy and the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection.

The Mazatlán mayor, Estrella Palacios Domínguez, announced that 500 federal security personnel will be deployed across Sinaloa, with a contingent assigned to strengthen urban security in the port city. The reinforcement aims to protect large public events in June, such as a football celebration and an LGBT+ march, and continues the existing Code Azul program that safeguards cruise‑ship arrivals. Additional measures discussed include a voluntary disarmament campaign and targeted social‑service visits in priority neighborhoods.
