Mexican Navy seizes 1.17 tons of cocaine south of Acapulco

The Mexican Secretariat of the Navy (Semar) intercepted a vessel in the Pacific Ocean containing approximately 1,170 kilograms of suspected cocaine. The operation took place roughly 851 kilometers south of Acapulco, Guerrero.

Six individuals were arrested during the patrol, consisting of three Mexican nationals and three Ecuadorian nationals. Authorities also seized a small vessel equipped with three outboard motors, 2,450 liters of fuel distributed in 49 containers, three satellite communication devices, and two radio beacons.

The operation was conducted as part of the National Security Strategy, in coordination with the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) and the Attorney General's Office (FGR). The detainees and seized materials have been placed at the disposal of the Federal Public Ministry for further investigation.
