Mexican authorities seize clandestine armored‑vehicle and explosives workshop in Durango
Federal agents led by the Fiscalía General de la República, with support from the Mexican Army and the Guardia Nacional, conducted operations on July 10 in Durango, Mexico. The raids targeted a hidden workshop in the Las Plazas industrial area and a nearby wood‑frame laboratory near the town of Coyotes, both suspected of producing artisanal vehicle armor and explosives for organized‑crime groups.
Investigators confiscated five vehicles—three modified with custom armor—along with a firearm, 914 cartridges, metal links, ballistic plates, reinforced glass, welding equipment and a cache of homemade explosives and precursor chemicals. All seized items were turned over to the Federal Public Ministry for further investigation. No arrests were reported during the operations.
