Mexican authorities seize illegal fuel truck in Pueblo Nuevo, Guanajuato

Federal forces seized a truck carrying fuel suspected of being stolen from Pemex pipelines in the municipality of Pueblo Nuevo, Guanajuato. The vehicle, a red and white tractor‑trailer towing a white cylindrical tank, was found abandoned on Boulevard Migrante after a citizen report. The Mexican Army and National Guard cordoned the area and handed the case to the federal prosecutor.

A separate incident in the same municipality involved a trailer that became stuck in mud at a farm on the same boulevard. National Guard agents detained the driver for lacking legal proof of the fuel’s origin. The trailer carried a 38‑liter cylindrical container, and attempts to free the vehicle required three large cranes. Both incidents underscore ongoing crackdowns on illegal fuel (huachicol) trafficking in the region.
